OCEANKING Presents New Award at the 17th Efkranti Awards

At the 17th annual Efkranti Awards, OCEANKING had the honour of participating for the first time as an award presenter, recognizing contributions to the Greek shipping industry and celebrating excellence in maritime thought.
With a 36-year history of supporting the maritime community, OCEANKING was proud to present the newly established award “Erchometha Pros ti Thalassan” (We Set Sail for the Sea) — dedicated to Contributions to Maritime Thought through the pages of Naftika Chronika.
The award was presented to Nikos Triantafillakis, General Manager of W Marine Inc., in recognition of his consistent and thoughtful engagement with key issues shaping the maritime sector.
As Carola Yannouli, General Manager of OCEANKING, noted in her remarks during the ceremony:
“This award is more than a recognition — it represents the dedication, thoughtful engagement, and impact of its recipient through consistent opinion pieces, commentary on current maritime affairs, and the highlighting of critical issues shaping our sector.”
The award takes its name and inspiration from the very first editorial published in Naftika Chronika in January 1931, written by the magazine’s founder, Dimitrios N. Kottakis. That article marked the beginning of an enduring contribution to Greek maritime thought — a tradition that continues to this day.
